We are a friendly and established community provider of pre-5 education. Our aim is that every child in our care, enjoys a safe, healthy, fun and stimulating play environment.
At Greenbank Preschool we give children the space to play and discover their strengths and explore their interests in meaningful, creative ways. We aim to share an ethos of caring, sharing and nurturing for our children and families.
Each year preschool funded places are available for children living in Edinburgh. You can add your child’s name to our waiting list from their second birthday.

This year the children built a freshwater garden for the Eco-Schools Scotland Pocket Picnic Garden competition, entered on the Keep Scotland Beautiful website. Browse the whole journey, or open any photo to view it larger.
We had upcycled water collectors designed by a friend in our community, and reused an old water tray to make our garden. We transplanted the herbs from our 2025 garden of healing, and also grew strawberries, courgettes and salad leaves.
We will continue our Forest School sessions this autumn as part of our Eco mission.
